Expressive Art Inspired by Nature, Memory, and Emotion

‘Blending personal storytelling with vivid, evocative imagery, capturing moments of transformation, legacy, and quiet introspection. Every brushstroke feels like a dialogue between memory and landscape—organic, textured, and full of soul.’

As an artist, I create Oil paintings with deep personal meaning; painting memories and moments, stripping back the structures and layers of the image to reveal the story within. My work aims to tell stories, evoke feelings of nostalgia, and contain a sense of allegory. In my studio practice, I explore these themes using different processes and techniques within the realm of oil paint. My practice has evolved to focus more on landscape; taking inspiration from my personal experiences with nature where I have always found solace. Growing up in the Cotswolds surrounded by rolling green hills and rich landscape my heart has always pulled me back to capture its beauty.

When painting, I put a lot of care and attention into capturing the atmosphere and emotion of the moment, always at a slight remove from reality to give the viewer a deeper sense of feeling. When planning new work, I begin in plein air by making graphite and charcoal sketches or use watercolours if colours my focus; this allows me to capture what I feel in the moment and respond instinctively to my surroundings.
